Briscoe Manor Wedding and Reception | Tifani and John

Tifani and John got married at Briscoe Manor back in April. Stephanie at Briscoe Manor coordinated the day, Flora Bella Designs provided the flowers, Edible Designs designed the wedding cake and Behind the Bash catered the event.

Tifani decided months before the wedding that she and John would want to do a First Look before the ceremony, which I highly reccommend.  Here is what she had to say about the experience after the wedding:

“Q. What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?

A. The most memorable moment from our wedding day was “the first look”. Seeing each other for the first time on your big day is something I can’t describe. You turn to each other, take each other’s breath away, stare into each other’s eyes, and know that you are about to embark on a life long journey together. It is an emotional time with tears and joy but it also takes away any anxious feelings. The rest of the day is full of smiles and fun and I would recommend a first look to anyone getting married. Its a very special moment to the start of your very special day!”

Enjoy!

Q. How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story.

A. John and I met at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2003. We were both working towards a business marketing degree and had a lot of the same classes together as well as mutual friends. We started working together, spent a lot of time together, and made our relationship official in November 2004.

John graduated with an undergraduate degree in May 2008 and headed to Florida to begin his masters degree. We had a long distance relationship for one year and when I, Tifani, graduated in May 2009, I moved to Florida to be with him. We were very blessed and found work very quickly. We bought our first home together in Florida and John proposed on Christmas day 2009. We were married on April 8, 2011!

Q. What was the design inspiration for your wedding?

A. The design inspiration for the wedding came from a picture of wedding flowers in a magazine and our desire for a simple but elegant wedding. We didn’t have “wedding colors” but knew that the only real color would come through in the flowers and to keep everything else neutral. The bridesmaid dresses and table linens were a pewter color and created a beautiful backdrop for the vibrant flowers. We kept the guys simple in a classic black tux but with no vest and a white orchid boutonniere to add a modern touch. Add in the tall lanterns at the ceremony, tree centerpieces at the reception, and we achieved exactly what we were wanting!

Q. Favorite design element of your big day?

A. Our favorite design element of the wedding day was the tall centerpieces at the reception. They were brown mandevilla trees with beautiful flowers at the base and scattered roses and hanging votive candles throughout the branches. The trees had a somewhat rustic feel but were elegant at the same time.

Q. Our favorite detail of the wedding was:

A. The only detail that meant the most to us was to be surrounded by the people we love on our wedding day….and we were. Everyone had a wonderful time drinking, dancing, taking pictures in the photobooth, eating from the buffet. We were in awe of how perfect everything went on our wedding day and being surrounded by all of our family and friends that day made us feel extremely special. Having that much love and happiness in one room was an absolute joy!
